Update to version 2.8.5 doesn’t work

Can you be a bit more specific as to what the problem is?

Dear Developer,

Sorry for jumping in the middle of this discussion. But I think my problem is also very similar to update. I am unable to update this plugin.

As I click on Update, update successfully done.
Again I reload the WordPress plugin page, one update still left.

I am not getting what’s happening wrong. I 100% trust you, and I hope that this problem will be resolved soon.

Same problem here.

Update to 2.8.5 is running through and after a refresh there is still an update for 2.8.5.

EDIT: Okay, Update in a single installation went through, successfully. Multisite doesn’t work.

Thanks guys for the extra information. Unfortunately, I can’t really see where I might have slipped up in releasing the new version. It’s possible that this is just a temporary glitch with the www.ads-software.com side of things – perhaps it will resolve itself before long.

I am having the same issue! In my case I get the following error message:

Update Failed: Download failed. Not Found

I’ve tried updating the plugin with the plugin both activated and deactivated, on both my staging site and production site – the same results everywhere!!

Any assistance you can provide greatly appreciated!!

Similar here but I have noticed that one of my sites with Code Snippets on it shows the update in the Admin update section and plugin area needing to be updated to ver 2.8.5 BUT when I try and update it fails to update showing this error:

Update Failed: Download failed. Not Found

On another site with Code Snippets, there is NO update showing needed and the plugin version is ver 2.8.4. If I click on the “Check for Update” button still nothing.

I’ve just tried to release version 2.8.5.1. It’s the exact same version as 2.8.5, but hopefully by pushing a new release, everyone will be able to update properly.

Alternatively, you can download a .zip of the most recent version of the plugin, and then use FTP/SSH or this plugin to install it.

Clicked “Check for update” again and it showed ver 2.8.5.1 available but when I clicked to update I received this error in the screenshot at the following link:

I saw the update to v 2.8.5.1 and tried to update to that version, with the same result:

An error occurred while updating Code Snippets: Download failed. Not Found

What will happen if we Delete ver 2.8.4 then download and then upload the plugin manually and activate it?

Will this delete our already created Snippets?

@doctormicro yes, deleting code snippets through the plugins menu will delete all your snippets and data. If you delete the wp-content/plugins/code-snippets folder through FTP/SSH or something, then this will not happen and you should be able to reinstall.

@cjbatson are you able to try and update manually?

SUCCESS WITH V. 2.8.5.1!!!

Not sure why it worked on a subsequent attempt, but anyway, it worked!!!

HOLD UP!!! When I update the plugin, I get a “success” message, but then the version number on the plugins page is still 2.8.4..

If you use multisite, check the settings page: there should be a new setting “Show Network Snippets” on versions 2.8.5 and 2.8.5.1. This way you can check whether the update was successful.
