• I’m trying to update my WP 2.9.2 to 3.0 by using the tutorial: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended#Overview_of_the_Upgrade_Process

After that my website still runs, but I can’t get in to the backend. When I visit the wp-admin I end up in a loop of:

There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.

    Create a configuration file

I already did that and I’m sure the settings are correct. When I press te button:

The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.

    After installing now:

    Already Installed

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

Then I end up at the first step.

    Anyone?

    RESOLVED!

Tried it again and removed all my files this time. Then added the things I wanted to ‘keep’. That worked fine.
