    Hi Alexander,

I am very happy using your wonderful Map application.. although it’s still the Free version for now.

Your current latest update Free V3.11 doesn’t pick up and/or display the Bing Maps even after re-keying from Bing and/or refreshing these specific API settings through your dashboard. (note: it displayed well in previous versions).

The same also concerns the Mapquest Maps which don’t display if set as an -available maps in control box- (note:first time MapQuest API-Key param setting)

Can you pls take a look ;P

    Thank you,

    Cheers!

  • Hi,
can you please check if you also enabled bing and mapquest maps in Settings / Basemaps / “Available basemaps in controlbox”? See screenshot at https://de.tinypic.com/r/xoihck/9 for example – the checkboxes with the red arrow to the left have to be checked in addition to also providing an API key in the related basemap settings section for bing maps and MapQuest.
    best,
    Robert

    Hi again,

did another check and found another related issue with MapQuest, resulting in broken maps although an API key was given :-/

Anyway I already added a hotfix to the current v3.11 package. So in case you want to use MapQuest basemaps and have upgraded to v3.11 before this reply was published, please manually re-download the package and overwrite the file leaflet.js on your server in the folder www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/plugins/leaflet-maps-marker/leaflet-dist/ (publishing a new release is not possible at the moment, as there are other dependencies that need to be considered, sorry).

hope this works for you – if not, let me know and I will be glad to help!
    best,

    Robert

Hi Robert,.. thanks for the quick response!

Of course the Bing Maps were already set in the param for the Bing Maps because they are already actively set and displayed through previous version.

But we double checked while also set the MapQuest active within the base map control box check box.

Btw we have your plugin active within WP installation so we update through our dashboard. Pls drop us the url for the manual download concerning the Free version 3.11 package to extract the specific file to overwrite

    Cheers!

    Hi,

please use the official download link https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/leaflet-maps-marker.3.11.zip – the hotfixed files are already included.

If it still does not work – could you please then provide temp admin access for info(a)mapsmarker com so that I can have a look why it fails?
    best,

    Robert

    Can not update because:
The plugin was not activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Memcached in /wp-content/plugins/leaflet-maps-marker/inc/Stiphle/Storage/Memcached.php on line 22
or white screen of deth in backend. ??

@photowoolf: sorry for the issue – this Memcached issue slipped through our release tests.

Anyway the current version 3.11 has already been hotfixed (publishing a new release is not possible at the moment due to other dependencies, sorry) – meaning all new installs/updates will not run into the same issue if Memcache is enabled on their servers.

So in order to fix this, please download the current package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/leaflet-maps-marker.3.11.zip and overwrite all existing plugin files on your server manually in the directory /wp-content/plugins/leaflet-maps-marker/ – afterwards your backend should be accessible again.

And again sorry for the issue!

    It’s not a problem.
    New release is working correctly.
    Thanks!

Hi Robert,.. downloaded / installed ‘n works although we haven’t checked everything. Cause although two active links to insert the Mapquest API -add your MapQuest API key here- is there they aren’t active and/or redirecting to set this param. So pls inform where we can insert key for Mapquest API.

    Thanks,

    Cheers!

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for the offer but we’ve never created any temporary access.
We always want to stay self maintaining.

All maps created within our account are not displaying on front end.

Pls notify if other solution is found.

    Cheers!

@Paradore it is difficult to say what is wrong on your site without having access to a map ?? can you provide at least a link to a frontend map? also try disabling all other plugins temporarily to verify if this is caused by a plugin conflict.

Hi Robert,.. maybe to replicate the issue. The initial status before updating towards V3.11 this notification was displaying: Please click here to start the database downgrade. We did not perform the downgrade of database. Result is what previously addressed. In 2nd attempt we did downgrade the related database request. The result is Bing Maps do not show anymore (which were initially set and front end displayed) parallel to a re-key. MapQuest works (although their map logo is pretty much aesthetic out of proportion). Do you still offer Bing Maps or are you partnering with Google?

Other thing is why would this update change/force the initial set base map control box check box(es).

    Cheers!

    Hi,
Thanks for the info – anyway as said before without having at least a look at a frontend map it is nearly impossible to tell what it is wrong.
Anyway database downgrade (I guess you tested pro version and switched back) is rather unlikely to be the cause for this issue.
Bing maps is still supported in general, anyway we focus on OpenStreetMap.
    Best,
    Robert
