  • Hi Norman!

Thank you for reaching out and giving a detailed explanation of the issue.

I understand you have an issue syncing variable products with Facebook, correct?

If so, I checked the?topic you are referencing,?and on one of the images you shared, I found you have some attributes with the disallowed character :.

    Image link: https://i.ibb.co/qMSZThs/afsdadaasd.png

As a first step, kindly remove the character :from all the attributes of the variable products you want to sync with Facebook, then try again to sync them and check if the issue persists.

You can remove the attribute character when editing a variable product in Product Data > Attributes.

Let us know how it goes for you!

    Hi dear @judagutor

thanks for your quick response. There are a few attributes with disallowed character “:”. I checked a few variable products that do not have any special character in it’s name – e.g. this one: https://ibb.co/2ZPfMHN The do not work ??

I let already the customer know, that she needs to remove all the “:” from Attributes to prevent issues with Facebook.

    Kind regards
    Norman

    Hi Norman!

    Thank you for the update.

While the customer removes the character, could you please confirm if the product you tried, that has no : character, in the Facebook section (while editing the product), has the Sync and show in catalog option enabled? (See image below for reference)

    Image link: https://i.ibb.co/xhVf8xj/sdknaa.png

Also, if the option is enabled, could you please share the information (if any) on the Facebook Product Sync section? (See image above)

This will give some context to get the bigger picture and assist you properly.

    Thanks!

    Hi Juan, @judagutor

sorry for my delayed reply. I searched the product I tried and was unable to find any “:” Character in Settings, linked attributes. Please find Screenshot with current attributes: https://ibb.co/F6Yv2hV
What I just noticed, I do not see the Facebook “Variant IDs” for this Product.
Other variable products do have the Variant IDs visible (but also not syncing) – as this one: https://ibb.co/C7dzXpt

The Facebook Product Sync is enabled: https://ibb.co/TKF1tD2 for all variations.

    Thanks in advance ??

    ?? hi @shnrmn

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this.

In the provided screenshots, I am noticing a PRO idendification up-top, and in the other thread, linked here, there was a remark on a variable product manipulation plugin activated on the site, also. That is worth checking further too.

    To clarify:

    • Do all products that showcase the issue appear as a group, or otherwise?
    • Did you already have a chance to test with the variable product manipulation plugin temporarily disabled, and see how it goes, or otherwise?

We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi Pepe,

    thanks for your respone.

The “PRO” identification is from Plugin Germanized (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-germanized/). It’s a Plugin to make Woocommerce match specific german legal conditions. The “Pro” there is for selling food and show the Nutri-Score (a german thing ?? ). I temporarily disabled this plugin but that didn’t solve the issue.

Sorry I have to ask, that do you mean with “Do all products that showcase the issue appear as a group, or otherwise?”
I do see all product groups (that are in stock, have price and are not virtual) from the initial sync in commerce manager – example: https://prnt.sc/Zmupb6CQYI4U
It’s just changes, that will not sync. Ist that you wanted to know? ??

    Thanks for all!

    Best Regards

Thank you for reaching back, clarifying things further, @shnrmn.

?I temporarily disabled this plugin but that didn’t solve the issue.

To clarify, did you also have a chance to temporarily disable the following two, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?

    • WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce (Premium): von WPClever – 6.3.0
    • WooCommerce Show Single Variations by Iconic: von Iconic – 1.16.2

It’s just changes, that will not sync. Ist that you wanted to know? ??

I’m curious about what the logs report on this. In the one I could find here, the product with Object with ID '5773351092763381' returns an error 4 times, therefore, it sounds we could focus the investigation further.

I hope this is helpful!?We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi dear Pepe @anastas10s

    thanks for responding!

I tried to disable also “WPC Product Bundles…” and “Show Single Variations..” but that did not solve the issue.

Today I did some more testing with this product for example:
    https://vilou.de/produkt/verschluss-fuer-ketten-layering/
First I tried to update product – did not work, logfile: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/047xHuyOB0yP46vxBQ52FSecA#Update_Product_facebook_for_woocommerce-2024-03-21
Then I thought about doing a full sync, that log seems ok for me: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0d664jK2OK4pcgpjNblCl2CDw#Full_Sync_facebook_for_woocommerce-2024-03-21-2
But after checking Commerce Manager, no changes seen. So I tried to figure out, if commerce Manager has also some logging – i found one: https://prnt.sc/7LTxUFLoCaOq
So both of my syncs (product change and full sync) ran into an error on “facebook side”(?).
Sorry Screenshot is with some german language but it say’s: “something went wrong, unknown error”.
So final test: I tried so change a single product where I do not get any errors on WordPress shown. But – and that’s weird – this also rans into the same error on facebook side.

hm. what to do now? Thanks in advance, have a great day ahead!

    Regards
    Norman

    ?? hello again @shnrmn

Indeed, the first log mentioned above appears to report both 200 (OK, in human language) and 400 errors (not OK, in human language), while the second log only 200 (OK). Moreover, the product URL appears to be a variable one, with two size options.

Product with ID 210428198799033 appears to be syncing in both logs, though.

As a next step, could you go ahead with creating a variable product (for testing purposes only), with only core WooCommerce functionality, and see if it will sync, or otherwise?

It would be useful to share screenshots of the product card tabs, for both products (test, and the one shared above), also, along with copies of what the logs report.

We await your response to better assist you.

    Hey Pepe @anastas10s

I just created a complete new variable product and named it “Test Product”. I did not specify anything special, just basic stuff – please find screenshots here in this zip archive: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/058ZpwGAf-PdLpz2q2yXsJOyg#wc_debugging

When first publishing, everything seems great. No error, no issues and directly visible at Facebook Commerce Manager. Then I tried to reproduce the “issue” by editing the product again (nothing fancy, just changed Product name from “Test Product” to “Test1 Product”. In WordPress there seems not be an error (Please find Logfile from changing the name in zip archive). But on Facebook commerce manager: no change. Checked the Logs in Commerce Manager: https://ibb.co/nCrmXHR

    Best regards

    Hi @shnrmn,

It’s great to hear that both the plugin and the connection seem to be in good condition.

Then I tried to reproduce the “issue” by editing the product again (nothing fancy, just changed Product name from “Test Product” to “Test1 Product”. In WordPress there seems not be an error (Please find Logfile from changing the name in zip archive). But on Facebook commerce manager: no change. This shouldn’t happen and need to check further.

Could you please share the error log for facebook_for_woocommerce after the error occurs? The error log you’ve shared indicates you’ve successfully sent a request to the Facebook API through the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin. I’m guessing this happened before you edited the product title.

Additionally, please can you share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: Navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get System Report and then Download for Support.

You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and share the link here.

Meanwhile, can you please try disconnecting and reconnecting your account? Or, you may also try deactivating and reactivating the plugin. This could potentially make a difference. Let’s see how it goes!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi @shameemreza

    thanks for response.

    I just did the following:
    – Disconnect from Facebook
    – Deactivate Plugin
    – Activate Plugin
    – Reconnect to Facebook

That did not resolve the issue with already created products so I reproduced the following:
    – created the variable product: “My Testy Product” (sync correctly, product visible in commerce manager)
    – changed the product name to: “My Testy Product change 1” (change not visible in Commerce Manager and Error in Commerce Manager)
    – changed the product name once again to: “My Testy Product change 2” (same)

Please find logfile (initial creation, change 1, change 2) here: https://paste.mozilla.org/nMUUgJJJ
Please find System report here: https://paste.mozilla.org/MoJ3RfAW
Please find error shown in Commerce Manager here: https://ibb.co/fGbNPTC

    Big thanks in advance.

    Hi @shnrmn,

That’s a bit strange. Would you mind resharing the error log? It looks like the Pastebin has expired. Please make sure to share it with a longer expiration duration.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

strange, yes. Pastebin works for me – but I just uploaded the log here: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0f5_m8k0HgKhfxfV6nbyOQMFQ#facebook_for_woocommerce-2024-03-25

A frequent troubleshooting step when encountering issues with product sync or the connection, in general, will be to re-connect the plugin to Facebook.?Learn More here.
