Hi, I have hundreds of sites in mainwp and thank goodness I happened to see your warning on the latest update. I can’t risk this breaking some sites and don’t want to do an auto update in mainwp, what is the risk and do I need to check each site after update for what exactly? I have disabled the plugin on all my sites until i can feel confident to not have broken client’s websites without my knowledge.

    Hi Carin,

I’m not sure what warning you are talking about, but in the last update (5.0.1) we fixed a fatal error showed up in some cases right after updating the plugin.

So feel free to update the plugin on one site, and then check that everything is working correctly (basically if the site is loading well, everything is all right). If that works well, update the rest of sites.

    Have a good one!

This is the warning-it seems pretty dramatic to me, thats why I asked for what results I might need to look for:
    Version 5.0.1

    * BIG UPDATE: This version is a major rewrite of the plugin. We strongly suggest you take a FULL BACKUP (DATABASE and IMAGES) before upgrading because there are multiple changes in the code and the optimization information is stored in a different way starting with this version.

    Hi Carin,

I understand. Please take a look at this article, which will clarify things: https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/539-spio-5-tells-me-to-convert-legacy-data-what-is-this

If you have any further questions, let me know.

    Best,
