• I have right widget in wordpress theme where I put some static content (ad link). There are some technical issues that I can’t access wordpress admin but I have access to wordpress source code. Can someone help me out to find place in source code where that static content would be? I need to update that content. I am really stuck and need to sort this out asap. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Cant without more details.

But yes you can find the template it is in, remove the part where it calls the widget, and then hardcode your static content.

@wpbum. Thanks for your reply. I DONT want to replace widget with static content. I have right side widget that has static content. I want to update that static content.

In your admin area, there’s the menu items… ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Widgets’. There you will see your sidebars on the right-hand side. Find the sidebar that the widget is in, click on the heading for that side bar, and it will drop down and you will see the widgets in that sidebar. When you find the widget that you need to edit, click on the title of that widget, and it will expand out and you will be able to edit it’s content.
