[UPDATE] WP-NUMLY (was WP-ESBN)

  • I’ve updated WP-NUMLY, this plugin was originally named WP-ESBN and still does the same great stuff but the name of the service changed.

    You can get download and install details on the Project Page.

    I consider this version BETA so if you hit a problem, please let me know. When it stabilizes, I’ll post another announcement.

    Since https://www.numly.com now supports Creative Common Licenses, this version of the plugin allows you to chose a license and it tags your posts with the appropriate verbiage.

    I’m trying to get your plugin to work as a meta tag. I understand it is suppose to work within the loop.

    Is it possible to have the esbn get displayed outside the loop itself? I’m trying to achieve ‘<META scheme=”ESBN” name=”identifier” content=”esbn number here”>’

    Is there any way to generate ESNs for posts that were published prior to installing the plugin?

    I upgraded over the weekend from an earlier version of this plugin, wp-esbn 1.2, to wp-numly 1.5 and now my posts aren’t being assigned numly numbers.

    When it comes to WordPress and upgrading plugins, I wonder sometimes why I don’t just stop upgrading if things are okay. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it – but am trying to contact Cal for advice these past three days, nothing back yet and I can’t find anywhere online that still has the old version available for download. I wanted to try to get back to the old one and now I can’t. So Cal, have you any ideas as to what I can do, please?

    Also, in the options menu, the new version of the plugin points to numly.org which doesn’t exist…. Thought you should know in case nobody else has noticed.
