This page is really outdated. Google has become a friend in finding good hosts. I was with 1and1.com until they changed to ionos. But they really are for WordPress, but great support.

So I decided to go with Dreamhost on the 1st of September and it is a nightmare.
After the bad experience, DNS problems, they started redirecting two of my websites to someone else’s website.

Dns User orphans, they leave a lot of orphaned users that effect your hosting (shared) memory limitations. Something happened, they couldn’t explain deleted two of the main users that were connected to websites.

500 Server errors, they had several server errors that were making my sites to overload, and on my old 1and1 host and other hosting companies, never had problems with those websites and those older hosting packages were not as great in performance specs as Dreamhost Spent hours trying to fine tune the sites to find out they had a problem.

Email forwarding never happens, they can’t really forward, only through advanced filters which never work.

The list goes on to 20 outstanding issues. Finally my company told them to fix it or we would start putting our reviews out, well they decided to drop me as a customer because I complained about getting issues fixed.

Then I find there is no cooperate phone number if you want telephone support it costs $10,00 per call .

Hence my search for better Hosting companies.

I know companies like FlyWheel and WPEngine are great companies for large scale projects but for average customers really a WordPress must helps us.

Bad experience with customers who had siteground and they have limited traffic and webspace.

Bluehost maybe good, problem is they don’t have migration tool, you have to do this manually and we all know how difficult that can be, which should be another topic, my experience with BlogVault is great, but they cost money and for small companies it may or maynot be worth it, but if you have 20 sites to transfer there are companies that offer free transfers. Bluehost will transfer one domain, the rest you have to pay for.

I think the bandwidth and storage limitations really suck and can be expensive, when you are a small to mid size company.

Come to find out the user ratings and complaints against Dreamhost are horrible. Maybe they started out right, but now they should be on the worst list.

I did three days of research and talks with A2 hosting, I think it is ok, but the cost for their hosting 4 cores, 4GB memory is twice as much per month as other competitors. They do have free migration also and alot of other features.

Inmotion maybe is a choice but these companies that say you have 100GB storage really does not mean that much storage, many of them go by the number of files, this is the case with Inmotion and 1and1 so you have a lot of photos, or other things. You are out of space if you use more than 1 big website on a hosting plan.

Then I found HostGator.com and after 3 days of conversations with them, I think is the best choice and they have different levels, from WordPress , Shared, Cloud to VPS and WordPress Managed, Dedicated and Reseller. I choose Cloud because it has the best options and price in-between for only $9.95 a month for the first 3 years.

Made the order just minutes ago, they will do free migration within the first 30 days. Hope I made the right decision.

And by the way, here is the result of the catastrophe with Dreamhost
Dreamhost said they could transfer my old domains, in the end they had technical problems, so I ordered new domains, that messed up my SEO and all the backlinking
Hostgator can’t accept two of my domains I got at Dreamhost, so now seo and backlinking is really a mess for those two domains.

Hostinger.com sounds interesting also but is limited for small-medium business.

I have over 1000 WordPress customers, so in my experience I also would not recommend GoDaddy, Siteground or 1and1.com

What are other peoples suggestions and experience ?
How can we get WordPress to update their recommendations and have some more information about the value of each recommendation?
