update_post_meta creating new entries with same key

  • This is really strange and there is no way to replicate this, but it happens intermittently.
    The update_post_meta function seems to be creating multiple meta fields with the same key.
    Is there any fallback or clue on how can we prevent this without adding an extra query ?
