update_user_meta not adding new field

this is the code ?? … so basically i what i want to do is when ever somebody clicks on add to your scrolls i want to store specific info in the user meta fields but the problem is ?? $result is true in the end but if i refresh the page nothing seems to be done … i might have not explained this well so i am open to any suggestions thank you!
