Updated and after a few screens got locked out

    I updated the plugin and after a few screen I got locked out of the admin. Creepy.

    Had to deactivate the plugin through FTP to get in again. No message about invalid login (I wasn’t logging in), just locked out. Tried to access /wp-admin or /wp-login.php nothing.

    WooCommerce customer login page let me log in and I saw the black admin bar at the top. As soon as I tried to access any of the menu points, got redirected to “home”.

    This is really creepy, since I had been trusting the plugin.

  • Hey Sam,

    Are you getting redirected to the home page on the front end? If this is the case it’s likely Away Mode is activated. Navigate to wp-content > uploads > themes-security and delete the itsec_away.confg file. Note that you’ll need to reset your Away Mode settings after doing this.

    Thanks, did that, activated again, seen to work.

    That setting must have been changed in an update! It locked me out at midnight – which is definitely not a time I would have configured it to switch on away mode…

    Hope the creepiness stays away now…
