Updated and now can't log in

you might want to use phpMyAdmin to look at the wp-user table and see if the user is there.

you did do a full backup before doing the update…right?

Thank you, Dan. I did what the link said–including changing my password and making sure MD5 was in the box, clicking “Go” at the bottom.

Went back to the blog, and still couldn’t log in. Tried to have the blog send me an email to “Change password”, it did so, I changed it (to the same one) and when I try and log in…the boxes just clear and I’m stuck at the log-in screen.

Any further suggestions?

after you login and it takes you back to the login screen, in the address bar, type your domain name/wp-admin and see what happens

This is to see if you are logged in but the login sends you back to the login screen for some reason.

I’d also add

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

to your wp-config.php so see if anything shows up.

I typed that in the address bar and put in my username and password and it still just cleared the boxes. It won’t leave the log-in page.

I’ll try and do the debug stuff tomorrow with my FTP…

You might want to reinstall the update, just to make sure the update did’t time out and leave some code missing.

How do I reinstall if I can’t get logged in?

2 months gone by. Not getting it done.

Is there someone around here who can fix this for money? I’m tired of messing with it, miss having my blog, and want to pay to get this fixed.
