updated theme and now geting 404 errors for javascript call

On the page source I have now located the script:

<script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://www.englishlc.com/wp-content/themes/academica/js/init.js?ver=3.5.2′></script&gt;

I have tried installing the Use Google Libraries plugin, to access the common javascript databses, but the 404s keep coming.

My questions are:
Can I delete this call if I can locate it (It’s not in the header.php)?
Should I try and locate the javascript file and insert it in the themes/academica/js folder?

In the end I installed the 404 Redirection plugin. It’s not an ideal solution as there is a delay while the 404 is redirected to the homepage, but it’s a workaround.

I am still using the 404 Redirection plugin to overcome this issue, but it isn’t a real resolution, and means another plugin to keep an eye on. Are you also using the Academica theme, and have you had any success with this problem other than installing the redirection plugin?

I’ve been experiencing the same problem and 404 Redirection plugin couldn’t solve my problem.
IT team of my university says that it’s probably because of the script Academica theme has is blocked by us for security issues. However they’re not sure and they still can’t locate the exact script causing it.

I notice you’ve resolved the 404 issue on the site running the Academica theme. Out of curiosity, what was the solution?

Sorry Barnez. visited the forum after ages. I think i finally downloaded the latest version of the theme from the publishers and that did it.

Thanks for getting back nagpai. I’m in process of changing theme for a new look in 2014 (a little late in release), but was pleased to hear that you resolved the 404 issue with a clean install of theme.
