    Supplement:
Switched from the actual eme_events.php (2.1.64) to the previous eme_events.php (2.1.63), only. Everything seems to work fine now.

Confirmed. I switched to the wordpress function maybe_serialize because the maybe_unserialize function only calls unserialize if needed and I assumed the maybe_serialize function would do the same. But apparently it calls serialize if already serialized or a function or array (say what???), and that’s not what I wanted. I now corrected this again and release a new version today.
