Sorry switching back to 4.4.5.4 :/
Well you did. Some options have removed.
Thank you both for posting! We’d love to get any issues sorted that you may have experienced with this update.
@airflame, it sounds like you might have a conflict with another plugin there, possibly with your theme. Would it be possible for you to try deactivating other plugins and switching to Twenty Fourteen theme to see if that’s the case?
Or you could try turning on debugging in wp-config.php:
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Debugging_in_WordPressThat should yield some hints via your error logs to see what’s causing the issue.
@dcrst75 if you’re experiencing any issues with it, we’d love to have a look through a new thread if you’ll get that posted.
Looking forward to getting this all sorted! ??
Cheers,
DavidHi @airflame,
I am not 100% sure what happened on your site after the update. There was an issue where the PopUp plugin would not load when certain other plugins were active. This issue is fixed now.
So if you did not see the PopUp menu item after the update then I am quite certain that your issue is solved with the update to 4.6.1 and we’d be happy if you give it another try.
You can always go back to 4.4.5.4 and have your PopUps exactly as you left them (the new version saves the PopUps in a different database table and will not change the data from the old plugin version)In case the issue is not fixed for you then it will be great if you share some more information on the issue, e.g. what works and what does not work. Maybe a screenshot would help (you can use dropbox or google drive to upload the image and share the URL here). When there is a problem with the plugin we want to fix it!
Thanks for your support ??
PhilippI am using You plugin from the begining from 3.1.1 and everytime i was updating there was no problem now the problem is You have changed to pro and maka a shitty update. And the problem i cant enter this new update there is no icon i wp-admin panel. Hi @airflame,
I am very sorry that you have troubles with our plugin. We do our best to test updates and make sure they are working. We’re very glad for constructive feedback and critique which helps us improve the plugin.
1. Have you tried to to update to version 4.6.1 already?
2. Which version of WordPress are you using on your websites?
3. Do you know which PHP Version is running on the server?
4. Can you turn on debugging and see if there is an error somewhere in the admin section? To activate debugging:
Edit “wp-config.php” and add the following line somewhere
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
Looking forward for your feedback. I’d love to help you to get our latest plugin up and running on your websites!
Thanks, Philipp
1. No i will not update to newer version to see if You fixed what is broken i am not a test subject.
2. Newest
3. Newest
4. No, not a tester of Your plugin.Hey there
You have changed to pro and maka a shitty update.
so please dont post this shit i have a bad theme or installed some wrong plugins that make this bug happening.
Do you really have to use that tone and language? Have we not been civil here and given our time to try and assist you free?
You know the plugin is free and doesn’t cost you, we don’t deserve that kind of treatment.
Nobody said you had a bad theme or some wrong plugins, we simply said there could be a conflict but that doesn’t mean the issue is their side, or ours for that matter, but without knowing what the conflict might be between it would be hard to investigate, after all we don’t know your set up.
Next time do update and check if it working for everyone
We do test releases but you must understand that there are thousands upon thousands of themes and plugins out there, that’s many millions of lines of code and it would simply be impossible to test with everything ever released in every possible combination.
Being open source we depend on awesome people to work with us and provide constructive feedback so that we can further develop and maintain our code.
I’m really sorry it didn’t work for you originally, we’ve tried to help here but if you’re not prepared to work with us then it makes it hard for us to do anything else. Of course you’re free to continue using an older version however with every new WordPress version you could eventually find issues in not keeping up to date.
If you were originally testing on a live production site and this caused you issues you might like to consider setting up a staging area to test changes, this plugin can help with that:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/sitepush/
I’m sorry you felt you need to rate us so low despite our efforts to work with you to resolve the issues you have. I do feel the review/rating is unfair considering we’re not given the opportunity to continue helping you.
I’m also really sorry we couldn’t help further here, if you do change your mind then please let us know we’d love to help get you sorted.
Take care and have a great day!
Sorry, but as i posted before i will be not testing things for You. If You release the plugin free or Pro its Your responsibility to make it work after evry update. People dont have time to sit and think and search the error You made in the update. If someone use Your plugin he give You a trust that person requires that trust from You. In this case this trust is broken i have deleted the plugin because I can not let updates from You brake my site or make errors in my database. I hope You find that error and sort it out. Meanwhile i changing this plugin to something that WORKS
Hi @airflame,
Thanks for your reply and just to clarify, it’s not that we need you to test the plugin. We’ve actually tested it through countless development and testing sites already.
The issue is that there appears to be a conflict that we’ve not been able to replicate. We’d only need to replicate your particular setup in order to sort this, thus why we ask for you to try it with other plugins deactivated.
To be a little more clear, it’s possible you have a poorly designed plugin that will cause issues with others. And it’s possible our update finally triggered that issue, thus why you’d only now see the conflict.
We’d absolutely love to get this sorted for you though. And I’ll be more than happy to assist directly if you’ll contact us here.
I could then report my findings back here after it’s sorted.
Could you let me know how that works for you?
Thanks,
DavidAs a note:
@airflame, I believe your issue is the same as on this thread here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/update-to-46-removed-options-from-admin-panel?replies=1We published a bugfix for this two days ago when I wrote my last reply here. Since the other user confirmed the bugfix to be working it might be reasonable to give it a try ??
Thanks, Philipp
I have installed last time the plugin v4.6.1 to see if the bug is fixed for me and its fixed but all of my popup dont show up. No matter what setup i use “Visitor is logged in” “Not on mobile devices” etc even if i deactivate and activate it not showing up. I have used IE, OPERA, FF, and Chrome + cleared cache and cookies. Sorry but for me this product is broken because i have 21 popups and all of them not working…
Hey there,
thanks for giving it a try and for your feedback!
Since you are using the free version of our PopUp plugin you can only activate one PopUp. So since you have 21 Pop-ups, naturally 20 of them will be inactive. You can see the active/inactive status on the right side of the PopUp list.
Inactive PopUps will not show up anywhere on your site…This screenshot shows where you see and change the PopUp status:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3s4dbv0xlqwvhq/popup-status.png?dl=0The problem was not able to see 21 in a row but to see any of them in different configuration one way or another uninstalled and 1 star.
Hi @airflame,
Thanks for clarifying that’s the issue, though sorry I didn’t quite understand when you mentioned that previously.
We actually note in the project description:
Unlimited pop-ups that display across an entire network, on individual sites or on specific URLs – limited to 1 active pop-up in free version
It’s only possible to activate 1 popup at a time using this free version.
Hoping we can turn this around for you completely though, if you’ll contact us here, I’d love to see how we can get you a solution in this case.
How does that sound?
