Updated to WordPress v 3.8 and Mailchimp won't reconnect!

Thanks for hopping in the forum. Sorry to hear you’re having some problems with the plugin and wordpress 3.8. In my testing, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue with the newest version of the plugin and WordPress 3.8. So we need a little more information to narrow down what’s going on.

Could you tell us the version of the plugin you’re using?
Do you have any common extensions in the browsers?
Can you try connecting from incognito mode in Chrome? This can help eliminate any problems with the extensions.
And before the page refreshes do you see any errors?

We appreciate any details you can provide.

I’m having the same issue. I’m using Mail Chimp version 1.4.1
After I put in my login information, Chrome says “waiting for sopresto.socialize-“, and the box closes and the initlal Mail Chimp login (under settings set-up mail chimp) reloads as before.
On the mailchimp site, it says that my wordpress site is verified, however, I cannot reach the next page for access to set up lists. I’ve tried using incognito mode in Chrome and also have tried using Safari.
There are no errors when the page reloads, it simply just reloads.

Also having the same issue – unable to connect with WordPress 3.8.

It didnt work in Firefox on Mavericks, but luckily it works in Safari.

Thanks for hopping in the forum. Just to make sure it’s not a local issue, can you try connecting on another computer on another network? And before you connect clear the cache and cookies in your browser. This guide from MailChimp can help with that: https://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-do-i-clear-my-cookies-browser-cache

If that doesn’t work, can you tell us what host you’re using? And have you tried uinstalling and installing the plugin?

Same issue. This is my first time installing the plugin and I was not able to connect via Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Any updates on this?

Sorry to hear you’re having some problems connecting. To narrow down what might be happening here, I need a little more information. When you attempt to connect do you see any errors? If you could walk through the steps you’re taking to connect that would help out a lot. Also to make sure it’s not a local issue, can you try connecting from another computer on another network?

Just tried on another machine – same results.

I click the connect button, a small window appears for the username and password, enter my info and press Log In, button says “Please Wait” for a few seconds, small window closes, main page appears to be reloading, and ends with the same connect button.

The problem seems to be something with WordPress 3.8. I just tried the plugin on a WordPress 3.7.1 install and while the login process appeared to get hung-up, I was able to go back into the mailchimp page through the dashboard and I was now logged in.

Thanks for writing back with that information. Just to clarify, are both of these installs 3.7.1 and 3.8 both on the same host? And can you send the name of your hosting provider? Also to make sure this isn’t an issue with your MailChimp account. Can you to create a new MailChimp account and try to connect to that account?

Update:

I found what was keeping me from logging in on 3.8 and it a “coming soon” plugin on my site since it’s under development. Once I turned that off, I was able to connect on the mailchimp plugin.
