It seems to be just the first image of this particular blog post that isn’t resizing. Everything else is AOK. It’s the weirdest thing.

    Hi,
I’ve some problems in that my blog images are not resizing:

On desktop these are AOK. So, with hdpi detection off, I get the images about half the size of the originals (turn it on and I get full size. My monitor resolution is 2560 x 1440 native.

On the Iphone though it’s a different matter entirely. Whether or not the Hdpi option is on or of and despite numerour cache clears each time, the images are constantly the same dimensions and file size.

I’ve not tested this on an ipad (yet) though.

Last time I had this issue it was a simple case of clearing the cache but the issue was across all devices and resolution so I think this might be different.

    Iphone IOS is 9.2

    Plugin version is 0.6.42

    Thanks as always!
    Chris

    Hello, Chris,

I do not seem to be able to reproduce the problem. I do not have an IOS 9.2 to test, but all the other tests I do in any device and screen size work. Also if I manually ask the plugin to serve a specific breakpoint like this https://chrisgilesphotography.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/hextonmanorwedding-83.jpg?resolution=320,1 it still works!

So, in order to narrow down the possibilities: Does the problem occur strictly on the first image of that particular blog post? And what is the problem exactly?

HiDPI support is designed to serve double sized images to retina devices in the first place (as long as such big images actually do exist, of course, otherwise the plugin serves the next biggest available dimension).

    Cheers,
    Takis
