    Hello !
I have that message “A new version of WordPress is available! Please update now.” & i was thinking to ask for a little help.

Can you tell me how can i update it without to change/damage the database ?
    Is it possible?

If i have only to change the wordpress files from my webserver that means is easyer to do that… but if i have to make a new instalation with a new database i’d like some help about how to update & keep all posts & comments because i don’t want to lose them.

    Thank You !

Nobody ever lost anything… IF they followed the instructions. Upgrade is NOT equal with new installation.

    Thank you moshu.
I’m gonna backup my database & save the old 2.3.1 files to be sure i can get it to work again in case something goes wrong.

    Thanks again.

Backing up your stuff is always a wise move ??

If done correctly, nothing should go wrong: I just updated a 2.0.10 version to 2.3.3 and it’s OK.

Thank you for creating with WordPress | Documentation | Feedback | Version 2.3.3

I’ve made back`ups 3 times. Once from Control Panel and twice from PhpMyAdmin.

    I just runned: https://my_webpage/wp-admin/upgrade.php
… It took like 2 seconds and redirected me to the main page.
I’m now on website and everything seems to be OK.
I have to test it… and add new plugins to see how it acts.

    Thank You !

    EDITED:
Tested and everything work perfect. No problems.
Also this version seems to work a bit faster.
