    Hello,

Recently I was advised by the theme and plugin creator to use Loco Translate to change any of the theme or plugin words. was able to translate the words to my desired text, however when I completed a theme and plugin update all the translations reverted to the original text.

I would like to know recommendations on how to keep this from happening and/or how to resolve it quickly if it does.

    Thank you

    Hello,

Instructions such as this https://prnt.sc/21j4lgg do not tell where to put the code and/or where to find the file.

These are not instructions for someone that is just learning.

I don’t provide general WordPress support or help with coding. Automatic updates are not a function of my plugin. There is a link to the WordPress documentation.

I have viewed the page “Why have my translation files been deleted / reverted?” page.
There is a section called “Safe locations” after reading it appears that it’s saying that for the most part, the Loco Translate plugin will keep all translations saved with it safe from being deleted and/or reverted to the previous text. Is my interpretation of this section accurate?

My concern is that I don’t want to launch a website and after the update all the text changes after a plugin or theme update. I want to make sure that have a reasonable expectation of the Loco Translate plugin

Files in the “safe” location should not be deleted or modified by WordPress updates as far as my knowledge of WordPress goes.

    I make no guarantees.

    * WordPress could update their code tomorrow and interfere with this.
    * Another plugin you install could interfere with this.
    * Some other process on your server could interfere with this.

There is no file security between plugins and other chunks of PHP code. Any file that PHP can modify is open for modification by other PHP code.

I hope this give you a reasonable expectation.
