On one particular host I use, the dashboard updates for plugins frequently fail.

I’ll run the update, get the notice that the update has failed. If I try again, sometimes it works; but sometimes the update process has left behind the original plugin directory. The WP Plugins Dashboard will not show the plugin, so I can’t delete it; But when I try to install it again from scratch I get an error that the directory already exists.

I’ll have to then FTP in to the server and delete the directory manually. Then it will work again.

Maybe a better check to be sure that everything is cleaned up properly before exiting?

    Hi Tom,

The most likely cause of these symptoms is that the operation times out before it is complete. In the UpdraftCentral settings (top-right of the UpdraftCentral screen), there are some options – go into there, and increase the timeout.
