Updates from the ASTRA theme delete my own customizing

    Hello everyone. All previous problems deleted and I can be satisfied if updates to the WordPress theme do not delete files from the file system: ./themes/astra/asgaros-sitemap.php I have also added a new function in the functions.php that works with The entry is deleted after the update: ./themes/astra/functions.php

    How can I make sure that the file and the entry in functions.php are preserved?

  • Hi @klwild,

    If you do the modification (adding, editing) directly to the theme’s files, then it will get wiped off when you update the theme. It happens not only with Astra, but that’s how WordPress works. That’s why using child theme is always recommended.
