    Hello All

I have a blog hosted outside of WordPress, https://www.jabbering.co.uk

I am currently having some trouples with the update function, (I have searched Support and found nothing similar)

From the WP-Admin Dashboard I click the link at the top of the page called Updates, this use to take me to a page that allowed me to update WordPress or bulk update plugins now I just get a message saying “You are not allowed to call this page directly.”

I have tried completly re-installing WordPress, I have tried installing the new version of wp 3.0.2 (which is what I am running but I could only select 3.0.1) and still no luck.

I have a development site within my sever space, and it has an install of 3.0.2 and the link to Updates works find which would point me away from a problem with my server.

Any suggestions/solutions/assistance would be greatfully appreciated

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Hello Esmi

    Thanks for the advice.

I have changed the theme and that did not solve the problem however when I de-activated all the plugins the auto update worked.

I will now try reactivating the plugins and establish which was the troublsome one.

Well let you know how it goes
