Updating 3.2 to current 3.9.1
-
I’ve logged into WP admin after a long time away! I have not logged onto the host for about two years too.
First thing i did was deactivate all the plugins, about 27 saying they could be updated. Then i activated the Backup and went about doing a complete backup, though it seemed to freeze and or take ages so i closed the browser at that point. I believe i have a weekly update been sent to a gmail address automatically while I’ve been away leaving the site on auto pilot. The site itself has been running on its own, all well there for over two years could been three. I guess it was when 3.2 update came out!!
I was a bit unsure about updating after so long a time, but it needed to be done! So bang on the update wordpress button went! It didn’t take long and i got a white screen in the browser and this error and then nothing would load whatsoever. Mmmm.. i dunno, maybe someone might know where to from here and or what i might do?
Error:
The system returned: (104) Connection reset by peerI went into Mac and Safari and deleted the cookie to my site, though not sure even if that would change anything. On reloading the site it goes to a compete blank white page after trying to load the site up in a fresh new window showing in bold text bold ‘Error establishing a database connection’.
Oh boy i think this might be the start of my nightmares and I’m very rusty having not been tinkering with all this for a long time :(.
Well hopefully you guys could give me some help!!
