• Recently, I’ve observed that upon pressing ‘Update’ while editing a page, the ‘Updating…’ animation appears, which is a positive addition. However, it consistently persists for 12-15 seconds, even on a simple page like ‘Contact Us.’ This extended duration raises concerns as it leaves users uncertain about the update progress and whether the page has indeed been updated. A clearer indication of the update status would greatly enhance user experience. Is there something wrong with the animation that causes it to play for a long time until it stops?

Update, I noticed that there is a message down in left hand side corner that tells me when the page is finished updating, so that is a good thing and makes me know it has finished saving the changes! Just wondering why some pages takes long to finish updating and that animation was causing a bit of worry ??

The “Updating” icon appears to be continuously rolling without resolution. Despite attempting to edit the “About Us” page and clicking “Update,” the process remains stuck in perpetual spinning mode even after five minutes. Is there any available support for addressing this issue with the theme?

The “Updating” animation keeps going for several minutes. There is now way of knowing if and when the updating has been saved. Also, often the “Update” button is not “active” i.e. it’s not clickable, i.e. like if it was “grayed out” if you see what I mean.

Have you tried switching themes and seeing if the Update button still spins? This sounds much more like a Gutenberg/WP/plugin/server issue than a theme issue. For example, with me, I’d forgotten to update my ‘hostname’ on my server for a few days after switching boxes and updates were taking forever because of name resolution issues/timeouts. Once I updated my hostname for my new server updates were almost instantaneous. Using Lemmony every day without issues for months now. Also… keep in mind this is a free plugin. Expect “free” levels of support. If you want premium support you’re better off with a paid product. Lemmony is a great theme! Good luck.

    Hi @skiwhitefish,

First off, thanks for your prompt response and valuable insights. I had forgotten that “Lemmony Agency” was indeed free as well as “Lemmony”.

It’s been quite a long while since I initially set up my new website and the theme, and now that I’m revisiting it for adding pages, posts and links and assets and it’s release, I’ve encountered these updating issues. Strangely, six months ago, everything was running smoothly and quickly. The only notable changes are the upgrades I recently made very recently:

    • WordPress to version 6.4.2
    • Lemmony to version 1.4
    • Lemmony Agency to version 1.1
    • PHP version: 8.2 (alt-php82)

Could you confirm if you are using the same version of WordPress and PHP? I’ve experienced issues with another website after upgrading PHP and WordPress (from 6.2 to 6.4), so this might be a common factor.

Regarding Lemmony’s compatibility with WordPress, I noticed in the “Lemmony” tab on my WordPress site, it recommends using WordPress versions 6.1 or 6.2 for the “best experience”. This raises the concern that Lemmony/Lemmony Agency might not be officially recommended for WordPress 6.3 or 6.4.2 (yet). Do you have any additional information on this? It makes me wonder if I should perhaps try downgrading WordPress to 6.2 to see if that helps, although it does not seem like a great thing to do if it can be avoided).

As for your expertise on server and hostname issues, I’m a bit of a beginner in that area. Could you provide guidance on where to check and update the hostname in cPanel, as you mentioned, “I updated my hostname for my new server”? Also, I’m unfamiliar with the term “switching boxes,” so any clarification would be immensely helpful.

Regarding the slow loading of media elements and images in the visual editor, I’ve also encountered this issue simultaneously with the updating problem. Images take up to 1-2+ minutes to load any thumbnails, and some images don’t display (show up) in the visual editor (some images do show up but some do not even though they are the same image size and file sizes). Do you think these issues could be related?

I value your experience and would greatly appreciate any further insights or guidance you can provide. Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m sorry, but I’m not affiliated with Shuffle Hound/Lemmony at all and am not tech support. I just use and really like their theme. Usually Googling a problem with provide a whole host of potential solutions. Good luck!

Ok I understand. It’s great that we share a passion for this theme! I intend to use it for many years now, with daily updates, for this new site. So I hope it will be a very active community and support. In addressing the issues you mentioned, I delved into the Lemmony panel and noticed the recommendation for WordPress 6.1-6.2. Interestingly, I decided to downgrade to 6.2.3, and lo and behold, the saving/updating issues so far appear to have disappeared.

This got me thinking – perhaps the theme’s developers suggestion to use WordPress 6.2 is intentional (the Lemmony Agency theme’s demo page is using 6.2.3 by the way). I speculate that some compatibility quirks may exist with versions like 6.3 or 6.4, that affects the “updating” speed and loading. It would be fantastic if we could pool our experiences and knowledge on WordPress and PHP versions to create a resource for the community.

For instance, I’m currently using WordPress 6.2.3 (downgraded today from 6.4) and PHP 8.2, and the theme seems to be running pretty smoothly. If you’re open to it, sharing details about the WordPress and PHP versions you (all) are using could be immensely beneficial. Let’s collaborate and create a collective resource that helps everyone enjoy a smoother experience with this fantastic theme! What versions of WordPress and PHP are you currently using? My server engineer told me he thinks the PHP version is unlikely the issue, so I am not downgrading that for now, as long as plugins I use work ok.

    WP 6.4.2/PHP 7.4/Lemmony… zero issues.

I’ve not had this issue so far (disclaimer: I’m a fairly new user) but I have had some others that turned out to be more WP-based than theme focused. All mine were fixed with a cache clear and restart before the update thankfully ???

    Hello,

It appears that this updating issue indeed is more related to WordPress than to the theme.

We were just working on Lemmony and didn’t notice any such issue with WordPress 6.4.2 and PHP 8.2. But we will keep an eye on this issue, as currently, we can’t replicate it on our end.

Also, thank you, @skiwhitefish and @yvieormsby, for your help with the issue. ??

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound Team
