• Hi,

I am trying to update to WordPress 3.6. I try to do an automatic update through the dashboard and it goes through the motions as if it went well… but my dashboard is still prompting me to update to 3.6! So I tried it manually (which I’ve had success with in the past) and I reload the dashboard and it’s as if nothing happened!

The same thing is happening with plugins and themes. If I try to update a plugin or theme, it goes through the motions and tells me “update was successful” and yet, on the plugins page or the themes page it still tells me to update that particular plugin or theme!

I even tried to install a new plugin. It tells me that the plugin was installed successfully, but when I go to the plugins page it’s not there. I checked the files on the server, and the files for the new plugin are there even though the wordpress dashboard is acting like they don’t exist.

It’s as if no matter what I do, the WordPress dashboard is just totally ignoring me! What could this possibly be? Help Please!

    – Check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
If the issue is happening very early in the loading, it may not get to WP debug. That’s why the server’s error log would be a better place to look.
