Updating and Publishing failed can’t save the draft

  • Hi there,

    since I have updated to WordPress 5.5 can’t make a new page, it doesn’t let me save it (I can’t save the draft, I can’t publish it)
    It just says “Updating failed” or “Publishing failed” respectively.

    All plugins are updated.

    I tried deactivating all plugins but to no avail, so I activated them again, as there is no change whether they are activated or not.

  • Hi @mrcglobal77,

    It has most probably to do with a possible JS conflict. You can use F12 while the page loads on you browser to check for errors or warnings on the Console tab in Developer Tools.

    Any errors that show up in the Console can cause such a conflict. Since you’ve already tried deactivating and activating all the plugins, you should also try deactivating your current theme and activating a default (Twenty*) theme to see if the issue still persists.

    thanks aniket i got it i fix Yoast seo error with WordPress when disable yoast WordPress is normal now i can post a save draft also

    Hi there. I updated the system yesterday, now I can’t make changes to existing articles. I create new ones and reduce them without any problems.

    This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
