Could you check whether the issue persists when temporarily disabling the Really Simple SSL plugin on your site? If the issue persists when the plugin is temporarily disabled, it should be unrelated to this plugin.
But if the issue stops appearing while the plugin is deactivated, and re-appears as soon as the plugin is activated again; that would indicate that the plugin is related to this behavior.
If this is the case, could you enable Debugging on WordPress (e.g. by enabling a plugin such as WP Debugging) and then try to update a post or page once more.
Then check whether the debug.log file, typically located in the /wp-content/
folder of your site, contains any error messages that might be related to this. Could you share those errors in your reply, so we may take a look at those?
