Updating from CVS ?

I’ve got the last nightly on my machine, and there is some new stuff in CVS that I would like to play with.
Is there an automated way of pointing a program at my install, then at the cvs, and telling it make them the same ?
Or do I have to copy and replace each updated file manually ?
It’s a long time since I used tortoise – if indeed that can do it.
