Updating from version 4.3.2 to 3.5.1

  • Hi all,

    I have a client that currently runs their website using WP version 3.4.2 and I want to update them to version 3.5.1

    My questions;

    1. Is it safe to just click update in the WP dashboard ?

    2. What are the chances of issues arising from this update?

    3. The theme is ElegantThemes SimplePress

  • 1. Yes – providing you have:
    – backed up your database
    – switched over to the default 2011 theme
    – deactivated all plugins.

    2. Impossible to quantify. The above steps should maximise the chances of the update running smoothly as well as giving you a fallback in case anything goes wrong.
