Updating iTunes Books to Apple Books
-
A website I administer was sent this notification from Apple about updating the icons to remove the term “iTunes” from the website. Can the icons included in here be reflected to reference Apple Books?
See the contents of the message sent from Apple below:
We also noticed that your website uses the term “iTunes” when linking to Apple Books. Is there any way that that can be fixed across your site?
Below please find some resources and guidelines for promoting your titles on Apple Books:
Use Correct Branding and Terminology
Apple Books: This is the name of the entire Apple Books ecosystem, including the store where customers buy books and audiobooks, as well as the app where readers read books and listen to audiobooks. So one could say, “Buy ___ on Apple Books,” or ”I’m reading ___ on Apple Books” (not “iTunes”, not “iBooks”, not “the iTunes Bookstore,” etc.). The term Apple Books is always plural.
iBooks/iTunes: This brand name is no longer current and shouldn’t be used.
