• I was helping a friend with her website and noticed that Jetpack needed to be upgraded. I hit the button for it to upgrade and it never finished with the upgrade. After quite some time, i tried to move to something else (editting a page) and now I get a fatal error. Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_script_is() in /home/gramme70/public_html/barefootbayrealty.com/WP/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 975

I can’t even login to the site at this point because I just keep getting that fatal error. How can I resolve this without being able to login?

    Thanks

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you try to log in to your site via FTP or CPanel, and delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder:

You’ll find the Jetpack plugin folder here:

    wp-content
       plugins
         jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

If you’re not sure how to do this, you can ask your hosting company for help. They should also have documentation explaining how to edit or remove files from your site using FTP or a File Manager in your admin panel.

That will allow you to get back to your site.

Once you’re back to your site, try installing Jetpack again from scratch, and let me know how it goes!

Thanks. I did delete the Jetpack folder and then when I tried to reinstall jetpack, I got more errors. I don’t believe they were the same errors. Had to go in and delete Jetpack again. At this point, we are just operating without jetpack.

Do you happen to remember what some of these errors were?

If you’re ever willing to give Jetpack another try, it would be useful if you could copy and paste the errors you get here. I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

If it was one of my websites, I would, but I was just helping out a friend. I don’t have the passwords necessary to get in and delete the jetpack directory when it causes a problem. I’ll try it on one of my own wordpress blogs and if I get the same errors, I’ll let you know.
