• Every time I update MailPoet it breaks my site(s) and leaves .maintenance file in places which means I have to manually reload MailPoet. It seems to only download partially and not complete the update. This is happening on all sites using MailPoet quite often.

  • We have this same problem but the folks at Mail Poet are totally unresponsive. We’ll be looking for a replacement for Mail Poet and plan to leave feedback on FB about their lack of support and unwillingness to fix this issue.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you’re having this issue. It could be related to timeout limits on your hosting where when performing the upgrade routine, the upgrade times out and this means the standard .maintenance files which WordPress places when performing any update is staying and not being automatically deleted.

Do you have any error messages in the logs?

    Thanks!

Yes, we did have an error message but it wasn’t saved and it’s been quite some time ago since this happened.

I have forwarded your reply on to our maintenance team. Are you saying that the new version of Mail Poet IS compatible with Php 7.3 and this is nothing more than a hosting problem? It would be helpful to us if we knew if the program is actually compatible. I’ve seen many other users having this same problem so it does seem a bit odd that it would be related to our hosting.

    Tim

    Hear hear.

We stumble upon issues after upgrading Mailpoet as well. Crashing databases. Whole site being unreachable untill we restart mysql and php… We have enough resources and don’t use budget hosting. We only have problems when updating Mailpoet. Alle other plugins update just fine.

Hardly dare to press the upgade button again when I see Mailpoet has an update…

Since a month creating newsletters is pretty slow as well. In the past it worked very smooth but not anymore. We’re on premium plan.

    Regards, Yuri

    Hi Tim @crazydiamond23,

Yes, we can confirm MailPoet is fully compatible with PHP 7.3. We use this as one of the base PHP configurations to test every release against and on the support team, we use PHP 7.3 on our own sites.

@yuriv Do you have a lot of subscribers (100,000+)? It could be the inactive subscriber feature with the SQL query causing this. Please email (support(at)mailpoet.com) as our developers are already investigating a similar case.

    Thanks!
