    1) I cannot upgrade to the latest WP because myySQL isn’t the right message. But I have no idea how to upgrade to the latest version. Here’s the message I get: “You cannot update because WordPress 3.4.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.14.”

    2) I suddenly can’t edit any widgets on this same site. When I try clicking on a widget, it bumps the page to the bottom. My mouse will only highlight text, not move anything.

    Help!

    Thanks in advance!

  • I’m having essentially the same issue. Here’s my error message:

‘Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.’

    Here’s where it’s located:
    https://littleblackdog.ca/murphy/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Flittleblackdog.ca%2Fmurphy%2Fwp-admin%2Findex.php

Everything spiraled out of control when I attempted to complete the update ages ago. I’ve been so frustrated, it’s kept me from coming back to it at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I figured this out. I contacted my hosting people. On my website control panel, there’s a create and update button. I went there and went to update MySQL database. That led me to the update PHP link. Once the PHP updated, I was able to update mySQL. Then I was able to update WordPress.

    Good luck!
