When we go to update an old post Yoast is adding a new redirect in for the post instead of just updating the same post. Is there a good reason behind this?

For example: we updated a post from March 4th and then at the top of the edit screen it says that YOAST Premium has added a redirect for the old URL to the new URL. The following is the update:

    Old URL: exampledomain.com/link-to-article
    New URL: exampledomain.com/link-to-article-3

    Any ideas?

An update to this – it looks like this issue only happens with YOAST SEO when the Create by Mediavine Plugin is on the posts too.

    Hi @tonyoravet,

We tried to reproduce this by installing the “Create by Mediavine” plugin on a test site and inserting a recipe card on a post. We then edited the post and saved it, but we did not see a redirect notice.

If you deactivate the Mediavine plugin temporarily, is the issue fixed on your site?
