    Hello everyone!

Some of you might encounter errors when updating the Acunetix WP Security plugin (depending on the hosting provider, GoDaddy is one of them) to version 4.0.3.
If you do encounter such issues, please return to the plugins page, deactivate the plugin and re-enable it. This will wave that error away.

    Regards,
    Costin

  • I didn’t get an error message, but the plugin is totally borked. All the settings pages are blank and the notification with my score that used to appear in the admin menu no longer renders. Deactivated and reactivated as suggested; did not fix.

I did not get errors after updating, but all my settings disappeared. I reset the settings and then noticed the ver param was not being removed from script/stylesheet links for non-logged in users. Deactivating the plugin and reactivating did remove the ver param. These things are easy to miss since I did not get any error feedback. Sites I updated are hosted on Dreamhost, GoDaddy and Hostgator.

    Hello, guys

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!

@neeze: In order to help you I need to see the error log, or at least the error that produces this issue. You can pack it up and send it directly to me ([email protected]) or to support ([email protected]) and mention me in your email so they’ll know where to send it.

@bridgetwes: We are aware about the issues that might occur while updating the plugin on some hosts, so I really appreciate the feedback. In some cases it is not easy at all, if not impossible, to detect if anything went wrong after an update and an error message might be generated erroneously…

Bring back WP Security. It worked!

Last night my site started taking several minutes to load and all pages reported a 404 error. I disabled all plugins and the site came back up. I enabled only Acunetix WP Security and my content disappeared again. I enabled all plugins except Acunetix WP Security and the site works fine, so Acunetix is definitely the culprit. Disabling and re-enabling the plugin doesn’t help.

Version 4.0.3 has been running fine for months.
