I tried to search for this error, but it didn’t make me much wiser. Is it trying to use an incorrect path? I have WordPress 4.9.8 and Gutenberg 3.4.0, running on Apache.

    This is what I get:
/wp-json/wp/v2/pages/2/autosaves:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 (Unauthorized)
/wp-json/wp/v2/pages/2:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 (Unauthorized)

    Hi,

It sounds like you might be using CloudFlare in front of your site, whom are currently looking into reports that one of their rules is incorrectly blocking Gutenberg. You can find more information in the sticky on the forum.

If you don’t have CloudFlare, do you have any security plugins installed which may be set up to block the REST API (it’s a setting)?

Not using Cloudflare or any other plugins, this was on a clean/fresh install. I suppose it could be a server setting?

It might be, yes, if you’d be able to check that up and let us know, that would be very useful.
