• I’m guilty of not updating NextGen Gallery for a long time. I’ve tested the update on a singular wordpress site and saw that the shortcode that is pulling my album photos ([album=extend])didn’t work.

Here’s my question: How can I update the plugin on WordPress multisite and have the shortcode work with no additional work? There are over 500 sites so I really don’t want to change the shortcode manually. Please let me know if there is an easy way to do this.

    Thanks.

@jenny7 – There is no method within NextGEN Gallery to change all of those Legacy shortcode structures … I’m not even certain how that particular example would work in the first place as there is no album ID being presented.

It may require manually editing each entry as there is not enough details in the shortcode parameters to change to a more current version, such as:
    [album id=<album ID> template=extend]

Strange…my albums show using that code. I give it a try. Thanks for the feedback.

@jenny7 – Also to note, it may be an opportunity to switch over to using the IGW if you are not able to find a way to make these modifications otherwise.

You might be able to do a “find&replace” in the database but that would be beyond the scope of support we offer at this time … and if that is the case, I would recommend moving up to at least the most current shortcode structures. You can read more about them here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-shortcodes/

    Thanks!
