Updating Site

  • I have created a new site to replace existing live sitem so that we can update the PHP version. New site is different Theme, etc. What I am wondering is if there will be any issues during the migration. Live site has Wordfence installed. Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @tazcrzy thanks for your question.

    We have step-by-step migration instructions here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/#migrate-with-wordfence

    The most important factor explained there is removing Extended Protection (firewall optimization) if the new site is going to have a different path to wordfence-waf.php and re-optimizing using our wizard inside the plugin once the migration is done. Naturally follow any import/export instructions as appropriate depending on which data you’re taking with you anyway as part of the backup and migration.

    Thank you for your reply. However, we are not migrating to a new server just migrating the site, so the instructions link you provided doesn’t help. Next suggestion?

    One other question – I’m using my hosting provider’s mechanism to sync the new content over old content. Will I still need to anything?
