Updating Thank You Message Not Working

woocommerce_thankyou_order_received_text, this is the filter that is being used on the thankyou.php file in templates. However, when the text is changed using this filter in the theme functions.php file, it does not take effect. It still uses the text defined in wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/i18n/languages/woocommerce.pot.
