I try to understand the update possibilities in the style book.
Here is what I am doing.
New website / default theme 2025 / default Style / Open the style book.
Click on PARAGRAPH, all values are “default”.
Click on Text in the PARAGRAPH settings and change the text color (e.g. to Accent-3).

I now see that some other blocks in the style book have their text color changed to that same color (Accent-3) : QUOTE, DETAILS, MEDIA&TEXT, COLUMNS, GROUP, LATEST COMMENTS, TAG CLOUD, QUERY LOOP, EXCERPT, CONTENT, AUTHOR.

But other blocks in the style book don’t have their text color changed : HEADINGS, LIST, CODE, PREFORMATTED, PULLQUOTE, TABLE, VERSE, BUTTON, BUTTONS, CUSTOM LINK, HOME LINK, ARCHIVES, CALENDAR, TERMS LIST, LATEST POSTS, PAGE LIST, RSS, NAVIGATION, SITE TITLE, SITE TAGLINE, TITLE, AUTHOR NAME, POST TERMS, LOGIN/OUT, AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY.

    I have 2 questions :

    1. Why these 2 different behaviors ?
    2. Although SITE TITLE does not have its color changed in the style book (it stays default (black)), on the front end the site title’s color has changed to Accent-3. Is this a bug ?

  • Hi

You mentioned that you selected the paragraph and changed the text color, but you are not sure why
    other blocks changed color too.

If you look carefully at the first list of blocks, you will recognize that these blocks are not text blocks themselves. They can have text inside of them. And that is what is happening.
The default block inside a quote is a paragraph. To illustrate how the group blocks work, the stylebook has added paragraphs inside it. Otherwise, the group would be nothing but an empty area.

And in the same way, the second list of blocks are not paragraphs, so they are not styled by the paragraph color. -Possibly with the exception of some of the blocks that may contain paragraphs like the “latest posts”, depending on the settings. That type of complex block would only have a text color change on some parts of the texts.

The site title block can be either a heading or a paragraph. It has an option in the block toolbar to select between paragraph and H1-H6.

The site title in the default site header in Twenty Twenty-Five is a paragraph. But the Site title in the stylebook is an H1 heading. So when you change the paragraph color, only the Site title that is the paragraph changes color.
