• I see that here is a new version of Twenty Twelve available – Version 1.3. I am new to this – I have a child theme. I have made very few customisations and have about 4 plugins. Is it safe for me to click update with the parent theme activated? Do I have to turn plugins off? Do I have to do a back up? Need to update WP as well but will ask about that after this.

Make sure you backup your site and database before updating either the theme or WP.

Unfortunately the information here is incomplete WPyogi. To backup a site they say I can use Filezilla. I go where it indicates me to if I want to use Filezilla to backup site and there’s a whole lot of random and new info on using Filezilla but nothing specifically on how to back up my WordPress site. I found a tutorial which reckons that I must download Wp-content using Filezilla, which I did. I used a plugin -‘WordPress Database Backup’ to back up my database. I am holding thumbs that this is all good and well? Please tell me if there is more I need to do. Thank you for your response.
