Is this going to break if we update to 4.3?

Ruth, try this. I made a fork of thomasdk81’s work and just changed it to the English from the original plugin. Thanks Thomas BTW!

What about I localize it, then you can make a translation in your own language.

It doesn’t look like the author is active and it looks like an active fork is welcome.

You can fork and commit changes.

If you like, I can put it in WP repository (on www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins).
It would require a rewrite. Its old code, luckily jQuery hasn’t changed much since.
