Updating to 2.0.3 stopped shortcodes working

    Hi there,

    I’ve been using the Ad Inserter plugin on https://londoninstereo.com for months now with success.

    I’m using the TagDiv newspaper theme which has sections in the theme options for different ads, and I have been using the Ad Inserter shortcodes in those areas. The reason I’m doing it this way is because I want to be able to rotate ads, which Ad Inserter allows, whereas the Ad areas in the theme don’t have a |rotate| option.

    This morning I updated to 2.0.3 and the Ad Inserter adverts stopped appearing. I tried replacing the shortcodes but that didn’t help. Interestingly, when I click “preview” on any of the ad slots, I get a 404 Page Not Found error.

    This is the sort of code I have in the ad slots (I’ve removed the entire image path but it is in there and it is correct!)

    Do you have any idea why these shortcodes would have suddenly stopped working?

    You don’t have blocks enabled on any page type.

    Few versions ago Ad Inserter widgets and shortcodes ignored pages types. This is now fixed.

    Simply enable page types where you have blocks: posts, static pages, homepge,…

    Ahh, I see, that makes a lot of sense. I didn’t previously have the blocks enabled, you’re right.

    So if I enable blocks on all pages and posts, then insert the shortcode in the ad area, and set automatic display to “none” it will only show the shortcode ad, it won’t display them twice, is that correct?

    The plugin was working fine for us newbies, why did you have to tinker with it, lol j/k ??

    So I have the same problem, but I’m afraid I don’t understand how to “enable page types”? How do you do that?
