Updating to MailChimp API v3

According to a message on MailChimp’s API Docs site, support for v1 and v2 of the API will end after 2016. Are there any plans to update this plugin to use the new API v3 before the end of the year? I fear the forms will stop working if they turn off the v2 endpoints.
