Updating URLs after website move WP 4.2.2

Am I the only person having difficulty updating the URLs after a website move? The Velvet Blues plugin has not been updated to 4.2.2 and is not working. There is another one I had not tried before called Better Search and Replace, but that did not find any URLs to replace.
I am considering downgrading to an older version of WordPress and then doing the URL update using Velvet Blues and then updating again.
Either that or I will have to take a couple courses in php.
Does anyone have a way to update the urls after moving a website from one domain name to another?
