• Hello,

Recently, I have seen that WordPress recommends that I update to the newest version: 3.3.2. If I copy all the files from my FTP, update WordPress, but see that I have lost a few things, if I place those copied folders back into the FTP, will my WordPress go back to the old version? Or will it still stay at 3.3.2? Also, I am using the TwentyTen theme, but I have almost no idea how to use a child theme (even though I have one). Even though there are multiple tutorials, I do not have the resources or the knowledge to know which codes to copy in order to save them. If I copy my FTP files before the update and then place them back into the FTP after the update, will my changes to my site be saved?
    Thank you for any help!

    Yes, it is like that.

Well, that is it. Now you need to upgrade to 3.4. You can do that without fear of losing anything. But make a backup of your contents and database before doing anything. You are using a very old version of WP. Look for instructions if you do not know how to upgrade. OK? Anything more?

Okay, thank you! Yes, two questions. Does my spreadsheet need to have any coding in it? I also need to update WordPress itself. Would this update affect my theme?

    I’m sorry, I meant stylesheet.

I don’t think you have a style sheet at present, though I have not checked it up. The parent theme seems to be directly edited and renamed as child. Anyway, updating will not affect your theme, as it is now. OK?
