Updating WordPress and Plugins

Great Plugin – it seems to work toooo well ??
When I have the plugin activated I cannot update wordpress or any plugins automatically – I have tried disabling all the firewall settings and a few other things but having to ftp any updates when trying to manage multiple sites is really time consuming.
Please advise.
