Updraft backups have used up 47 GB of my hosting storage!! I have scheduled one backup per day and to retain the last 3 backups. How can this be, for one small website? I have now redirected backups to Google Drive. But now the question is How can I free up my hosting storage space? I even upgraded to Pro hosting thinking that I needed more storage space :((( I cannot downgrade so I’m stuck with it. Basically I’ve paid $340 of hosting per year for what? Updraft backups!!! Please help!!

    Hi there,

The free version of the plugin does not offer retention rules settings, which version do you have?

If you are referring to the local storage please check your settings for deleting the local backups.
In Settings >> Expert settings >> Show expert settings >> Delete local backup: uncheck the box.

Remember to click ‘Save Changes’ if you adjust the setting. You will also need to clear the backups.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi there,

My apologies, the free version has retention settings but not additional rules.
When you uncheck Delete local backup the rules are applied to local backups.
Meaning, only the number of backups specified in the settings will be stored.

    Best regards,

    Nick
