    Hello,

I’ve migrated manually a site and its database. When I try to run a standard manual backup, the UpdraftPlus plugin backs up everything except the “uploads” folder and reports:

Could not read the directory: /home/content/11/11722711/html/wp-content/uploads

My “uploads” folder has changed locations with the migration so UpdraftPlus is looking in the wrong path.

The plugin’s “Settings” tab doesn’t seem to offer options for changing directories or performing a scan. Though the options on the “Debugging / Expert Tools” tab are beyond my level of WP proficiency, they don’t seem to address the issue either, unless I’m mistaken.

Can anyone please advise what can be done to resolve this?

Thank you very much for supporting this plugin.

Resolved by manually updating database entries to point to new folder path.

    I hope this helps others.

    Hi Catalyx,

Does “migrated manually” mean that you did it by hand? If so, then yes, you need to look out for things like that. That’s not an UpdraftPlus issue, though… UD just asks WordPress “hey, where’s the uploads folder?” If WordPress is giving out the wrong answer to that question, then that’s not something that UD or another plugin should try to second-guess.

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi David,

I was assuming that UpdraftPlus would scan the file directories and change the settings for the standard WP content folders to backup.

Yes, I should have reviewed the paths of the database and adjusted accordingly. This was not a Updraft issue as you stated but a shoddy migration.

Thanks again for creating a great plugin and the strong support.

    Hi Catalyx,

    No problem!

Second-guessing that WordPress is supplying the wrong answers when asked “hey, where’s the uploads folder?” would be likely to be a pretty dodgy activity. Things are complicated enough inside WP as they are!

    Best wishes,
    David
