    Hi all

I’m using updraft for my website and am really happy with it, what a great tool! Unfortunately since some months it shows a strange behaviour:

At first (or after I delete the plugin with all data and reinstall it again), everything works fine. DB and files get backed up weekly to Google Drive and that’s very reliable.

Then after several weeks, Updraft starts creating backups and after finishing successfully, it does it again and again. The backup run 8-20 times directly one after the other. Today it is at 70 times and it doesn’t stop. This goes on until my Google Drive storage is full, then I stop the backup, delete everything and the whole cycle is starting again.

My WordPress and all plugins are up to date and apart from plugins like WPML and Yoast I mainly use Wordfence, WP Super Cache and Borlabs Cookie that I can imagine could interfer with the backup. Is there any known issue that could cause this behavior?

    Thank you for your time!

    Hi,

It sounds like your issue might be related to low visitor numbers: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/my-scheduled-backups-do-nothing-backup-now-stops-midway/

Can you install the free plugin WPCrontrol and take a screenshot of your CronEvents (just the top few, it does not need to be all of them and they do not have to be related to UpdraftPlus)

Can you also post your backup log using a tool such as pastebin.com?

    Hi

Thank you for your quick reply. There was an issue with the Cron, as you correctly suspected. I disabled WP Cronjobs and activated the cronjob of the server. Nevertheless, here is the log of the occurence (before moving cronjobs): https://pastebin.com/xXk1QHTz

What I now get is the following error from my server:

    Can't locate cPstrict.pm in @INC (you may need to install the cPstrict module) (@INC contains: /usr/local/cpanel /usr/local/cpanel /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/536/cpanel-lib/x86_64-linux /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/536/cpanel-lib /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/536/lib/x86_64-linux /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/536/lib /opt/cpanel/perl5/536/site_lib/x86_64-linux /opt/cpanel/perl5/536/site_lib) at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Math/Bytes.pm line 8.

    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/gpcom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/get-cpanel-quota-usage.pl line 9.

I’m working with the provider to enable this package and disabled the quota check in the meantime via wp-config.php. I hope now everything runs smoothly again.

    Thank you and best regards

I am glad to hear you got things working again.

The warning you are getting about sPstrict should be a fairly easy fix for your hosting and it sounds like you have have found the “advanced hacks” guide to stop the check.
